I love mornings like these. The birds are singing, the sun is shining and the day is full of possibilities.
In the words of Macy Gray; ‘Get up, get out and do something, don’t let the days of your life just pass you by…’ I decided it’s time to stop procrastinating and take action, starting by getting my tired body out of bed and into the garden on this sunny start to the weekend.
Jet lag is debilitating and it’s taken me a few days to get back into the swing of things and be really strong with my thoughts of ‘you deserve a lie in, rest, relax, it’s been a busy week, blah, blah’. But I could lie here all day and ‘lie’ here all day to myself that things will get done in good time…which they won’t if I talk myself into staying put!
Positive self talk helps us (as many of you lovely people drawn to this site already know). However, and it’s a big HOWEVER: No amount of positive thinking is going to lead you to a fulfilled life of your dreams without taking action!
Each day do at least one thing towards making your goals and dreams come to fruition. If it’s to lose weight; join weight watchers or a similar group TODAY and read one of the many inspiring books there are. If it’s to get fit; stop reading this, get off your backside and start moving! Dance round the room or go discover one of the many alternative ways to exercise your body and mind. If it’s to write; pick up a pen and paper, or go to your computer and just write…anything at all! How about painting? If this is your inspiration, go grab a blank sheet of paper, or better still a blank canvas and sit there with your brush ready and see what comes to mind. Who knows, it may turn into the next most sought after piece of art ever known!
The simple action of doing some activity towards your desires will ignite the passion within to achieve them.
Remember, you are only one thought away from making a decision that could change your life or others for the better.
